텐세그리티(Tensegrity)

텐세그리티 어원

텐세그리티(Tensegrity)는 끈이나 줄에서 생기는 힘인 장력의 영단어 Tension과 무결성, 완전한 상태의 의미를 갖고 있는 Integrity의 합성어입니다. Tension의 앞부분, Tens와 Integrity의 뒷부분, egrity가 합쳐져 생긴 단어인 것이다.

Tensegrity구조를 가진 유명한 교량으로는 2009년 오스트레일리아 퀀스랜드의 Brisbane강에 완공된 쿠릴파 다리(Kurilpa Bridge)가 있다.

텐세그리트 구조의 특징

1. 구조물은 어떤 지지점 없이 자립한다.

2. 구조 부재는 직선형이다.

3. 구조 부재는 압축을 전달하는 스트럿과 인장을 전달하는 케이블의 두가지 유형만 있다.

4. 스트럿은 끝에서 서로 만나지 않는다.

텐세그리티 구조의 예비 설계에서 두 가지 주요 문제:

• 설계자의 (기하학적 및 기계적) 요구 사항을 충족하는 자체 평형 구성을 달성하는 방법
• (초)안정성을 보장하는 방법.
