Note that moving the lifting points 6 percent of the span virtually halves z0 and doubles the factor of safety.
 
Of course, one must not overdo it as the top fiber stresses should remain compressive. Fortunately, very long concrete
girders normally have top compression and can tolerate being lifted a short distance from the end.
